Some students need tutors no matter in what grade they are. They need to get additional guidance and improve their skill in certain subject. Perhaps, those students didn’t learn that subject deeper at school. Economics is one of the main subjects in which students need to hire a tutor. Thus, you can take a chance of this opportunity by being an economics tutor. Follow two steps below:
- Know the qualifications. The first question you should ask to yourself is: will you work for an agency or be self-employed? For both choices, you must be qualified first. Get a degree in economics.
- Make a business plan. After making sure that you’re qualified to be an economics tutor, it’s time for making a business plan. Consider where you are going to start tutoring, who your prospects are, how much budget you have, what marketing strategy you will implement, and so on.
Find your students/clients once you open your business.

Last year, when I still lived in Los Angeles, I have some friends who came from China. I have good relationship during there. We often hang out and go on vacation together. In February 2013, they invited me to celebrate Chinese New Year at their residence. Because I wanted to know more about their religious day, I agreed to visit their home.
I was quite surprised at seeing their dwelling which looked interesting. Their home was decorated by lampion and Chinese paints. Besides, they painted wall with red and gold. I loved that nuance because it was my first experience. He served me by providing various delicious foods and beverages. We ate together.
Before going home, their parents gave me red envelope, they called it, angpau. Actually, that envelope contained some money. I said thanks to their parents. My friends told me that angpau only may be given by Chinese people who are already married.
